For FX CFD Brokers
Swaps, also known as overnight fees or roll-over fees, are charges applied to open positions that are held overnight.
These fees compensate for the cost of maintaining the position beyond the trading day and are calculated based on predefined methods. The swap feature is critical for CFD markets, allowing brokers to manage overnight financing costs while giving traders a clear understanding of the charges applied to their positions.

Swap amount is directly charged from the trader's available balance.
All negative swaps are calculated and added to the root asset.

Fix — a fixed monetary amount per lot in any currency; Point — a fixed amount in points applied to position size; Percent — a percentage of the position size specified by the broker.
Swap can only be set if the instrument type is CFD.
The swap operation can either decrease (positive for broker; negative for trader) or increase (negative for broker; positive for trader) the account funds.
The swap type and values can be set for long and short positions by the broker platform (BP) Admin in the market settings.
Swap can decrease the margin level to the Margin Call (MC) or Stop Out (SO) levels.
How it works

Swaps are fees applied to positions held overnight, charged to cover the cost of maintaining these positions beyond the end of a trading day.
Swap fees are calculated daily at the end of the trading session based on the method configured in market settings — Fix (fixed amount per lot), Point (fixed points on position size), or Percent (percentage of position size). Rates can differ for long and short positions on each CFD instrument.
Positions held open over weekends or market holidays are still subject to overnight financing. According to the trading calendar, multiple swap days may be applied in a single session — for example, a triple swap on Friday when the platform is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Swap amounts are deducted directly from the trader’s available balance in the asset with the highest Margin Ratio, starting from the Root Asset. Swaps can reduce margin level toward Margin Call or Stop Out thresholds and may lead to negative balances if charges exceed available funds.
