Change a Subscription’s Risk Ratio and Allocation Method

Adjust how position sizes are recalculated when trades are copied to your account.

For clients

The allocation method and risk ratio on a copy-trading subscription decide how the platform recalculates position sizes when the master’s trades are copied to your account. You can change both at any time — the new settings apply to positions copied after the change.

  1. Open your accounts

In the main menu, expand B2COPY (Copy Trading) and click My Accounts — pick the platform if more than one is available.

  2. Open the investment account

Click the investment account in the list, then go to Subscriptions in the account details.

  3. Edit the subscription

In the subscription row, click (the Actions button) and select Edit.

  4. Change the settings

In the Edit subscription popup, pick another method in the Allocation method dropdown and enter a numeric Risk ratio (use a dot . as the decimal separator).

  5. Save

Click Save to apply the changes.

When the risk ratio applies

The risk ratio only affects allocation methods that use it in their formulas (e.g. Proportionally by Equity × Risk Ratio). With methods that ignore it — such as Lot to lot — the value has no effect.

Not sure which method to pick? Allocation methods for copy trading and MAM in the concepts section walks through all six with examples — and Allocation methods and their effect on open positions explains why already-open positions keep their size.
