The Subscription Fee is a fixed amount in USD per period for remaining subscribed to a master. The plan can charge it Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, regardless of trading activity or results.
- Who pays — the investor.
- Who receives it — the master.
- When — when the subscription begins, then at the start of each new calendar period.
- How much — the full plan amount for a full period, or a proportional amount when only part of the period needs to be covered.
The idea: pay only for the part of the period being covered
A new subscription usually starts inside an existing calendar period. The first fee prepays only the time from the subscription start to the next period boundary. Once a complete new period begins, the full plan amount applies. Ending the subscription early does not refund unused covered time or create another Subscription Fee. Any existing fee debt can still be collected.
| Plan period | Current period | Next boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | Midnight to midnight, in platform time | The next midnight |
| Weekly | Monday to Monday, in platform time | The next Monday |
| Monthly | First day of the month to the first day of the next month, in platform time | The first day of the next month |
Monthly uses the actual calendar month
A monthly Subscription Fee uses the real length of that month: 28, 29, 30, or 31 days.
Formula
Subscription fee = Full-period fee × Time being covered / Full calendar period| Variable | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Full-period fee | The fixed USD amount from the fee plan for one complete day, week, or month. |
| Time being covered | The unpaid time from the subscription start or previous paid-until point to the next period boundary. |
| Full calendar period | The complete calendar day, Monday-to-Monday week, or actual calendar month. |
Worked example, step by step
A Monthly plan charges 50 USD. The subscription starts on 11 August at 00:00, so the first fee covers the period from 11 August at 00:00 until 1 September at 00:00 — 21 days of the 31-day August period. Reading the receipt from top to bottom:
| Step | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Full monthly fee | 50.00 USD |
| × Covered part of August | × 21 / 31 |
| First Subscription Fee | 33.87 USD |
The first charge is 33.87 USD and covers the subscription until 1 September. At the start of September, a complete monthly period begins, so the next charge is the full 50.00 USD.
Partial days are kept
The calculation uses the exact time being covered, not rounded whole days. The example starts at midnight only to keep the arithmetic easy to follow.
Subscription fee vs joining fee
Both are fixed USD amounts, so they are easy to confuse. The difference is what they pay for — see Joining fee for that one-time charge.
| Question | Subscription Fee | Joining Fee |
|---|---|---|
| What does it pay for? | Time subscribed to the master. | Starting the subscription. |
| How often? | Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. | One-time. |
| Can the first amount be prorated? | Yes — when the subscription starts partway through a calendar period. | No — it is a single fixed charge. |
Pausing does not stop the fee schedule
Using Pause Copy stops new positions from being copied, but fee payments continue according to the subscription’s Fee Plan. PAMM subscriptions cannot be paused.
When no subscription fee is charged
- The fee plan has no Subscription fee or its amount is zero.
- The selected frequency is Never.
- The subscription has already been paid through the next period boundary, so there is no uncovered time.
Currency conversion
The plan amount is set in USD, while the charge is shown in the investment account currency. When that currency is not USD, the calculated fee is converted at the applicable exchange rate and rounded to the precision shown for the account.
If it cannot be collected
If the account lacks enough funds to collect the full fee, the shortfall becomes accrued fee debt and is recovered later.
