The trade fee, also called the Volume fee, is a fixed amount in USD per lot of copied volume. It is charged when a copied position on the investment account is fully or partially closed.
- Who pays — the investor; the charge is attributed to this master–investor subscription.
- Who receives it — the master.
- When — after copied volume is closed, including a partial close.
- How much — the closed copied volume in lots multiplied by the plan’s USD-per-lot rate.
It depends on volume, not profit
The position’s profit or loss does not change this fee. A winning close and a losing close with the same copied volume produce the same Trade fee.
The idea: charge only the volume that closes
Opening a copied position does not create the charge. When all or part of that position closes, the fee uses the volume closed by that event. If the position closes in several parts, each part is charged separately as it closes.
Copied volume can differ from the master’s volume
The fee uses the volume that was actually copied to this investment account, which can differ from the volume on the master account.
Formula
Base Trade fee in USD = Closed copied volume in lots × Fee rate in USD per lot
Final charge = Base Trade fee adjusted and converted to the investment account currency| Variable | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Closed copied volume | The part of the copied position closed by this event, expressed in lots. |
| Fee rate | The fixed USD-per-lot amount from the fee plan. For example, 2 USD / lot. |
| Base Trade fee in USD | The fee before any account-currency adjustment or conversion. |
Worked example, step by step
The fee plan charges 2 USD per lot. A 1.20-lot copied position closes in two steps: first 0.40 lots, then the remaining 0.80 lots. Reading the calculation from top to bottom:
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| Open 1.20 lots | no fee yet |
| First closed volume | 0.40 lots |
| × Fee rate | × 2.00 USD / lot |
| First Trade fee | 0.80 USD |
| Remaining closed volume | 0.80 lots |
| × Fee rate | × 2.00 USD / lot |
| Second Trade fee | 1.60 USD |
| Total for 1.20 closed lots | 2.40 USD |
Nothing is charged when the position opens. The investor pays 0.80 USD at the first partial close and 1.60 USD when the remaining volume closes — 2.40 USD in total for 1.20 lots.
When no trade fee is charged
- The copied position remains open — no volume has closed yet.
- The fee plan has no Trade fee or its rate is zero.
Some instruments may be excluded
The broker can limit Trade fees to selected instrument groups on Settings → Trade Fee Filter. Instruments outside those groups are not charged. If no groups are selected, the fee applies to all instrument groups.
How it can affect performance fee
On Settings → Fees, the broker’s Trade fee accounting setting controls whether Trade fee amounts reduce the profit base used for Performance fee. Consider Trade fee as loss subtracts them from that base; Exclude Trade fee from calculation leaves the Performance fee base unchanged. This setting does not change the Trade fee formula itself.
Currency conversion
The plan rate is set in USD, while the final charge is shown in the investment account currency. Account-currency settings may adjust the amount before it is converted at the applicable exchange rate and rounded to the precision shown for that account.
If it cannot be collected
If the account lacks free funds when the fee is charged, the shortfall becomes accrued fee debt and is recovered later.
