Assign a Risk Limit to a Subscription

Cap the loss an investment account can take from one subscription before it auto-terminates.

For admins

A risk limit on a subscription caps the loss an investment account can take from that one subscription. It is the admin-side counterpart of the protection investors can set themselves in the Web UI.

What Happens When the Limit Is Hit

  1. All open positions allocated to the investment account from this subscription are closed.
  2. Fees from the subscription’s fee plan are applied.
  3. The investment account is automatically unsubscribed from the master.

Assign a Loss Limit

  1. Open the links list

Expand the Copy Trading, PAMM, or MAM menu and go to Links. Check the platform-instance switcher in the upper-left corner if you run several instances.

  2. Open the subscription

Click the identifier in the Link ID column to open the subscription details.

  3. Edit the Risk Limits section

On the Properties tab, click Edit in the Risk Limits card and enter the maximum loss amount in the Loss Limit (Max loss amount) field.

  4. Save

Click Save to apply the limit.

Currency

Risk limits on subscriptions are always denominated in the currency of the investment account. A limit of 500 USD means: once the account’s loss from this subscription exceeds 500 USD, the subscription is terminated automatically.

For the loss-tracking mechanics — what counts toward the limit and when it resets — see Risk limits for investors in the concepts section.
