The Risk Limits tab assigns protective limits to a copy-trading or MAM master account. Limits are useful for newly registered traders or accounts with volatile returns — they safeguard both the trader and the subscribed investors from runaway losses.
What happens when a limit is hit
All open positions on the account are closed, all pending orders are cancelled, and the account is blocked — no further trading is permitted until it’s unblocked.

The Four Limit Types
| Limit | How it works | Unblocking |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Risk Limit (%) | The maximum daily loss as a percentage of the account equity recorded at the start of the day (00:00 server time). Once set, the Equity field shows the exact equity value at which the account will be blocked. | Automatic at the start of the next day (00:00 server time). |
| Daily Risk Limit (account currency) | The maximum loss amount per day, in the account’s currency. The Equity field shows the blocking threshold. | Automatic at the start of the next day. |
| Loss Limit (Max Loss Amount) | The maximum combined realized + unrealized loss, in the account’s currency. Exceeding it blocks the account. | Manual — click Reset risk limits and activate account. |
| Max DD Risk Limit | The maximum drawdown percentage. Cannot be set equal to or below the account’s current Max DD (if the account is already at 20%, the limit must be above 20%). | Manual — click Reset risk limits and activate account. |
Daily limits assigned on the same day an account was created start working the next day at 00:00 server time, calculated against the equity recorded then.
Check Whether Limits Are Assigned
The Current state field on the Risk Limits tab shows the status at a glance: Risk Limits Not set (nothing assigned), Active (limits assigned, none reached), or Account blocked (a limit was hit).
For the precise definitions and how each limit behaves, see Risk limits for master traders in the Copy Trading, PAMM & MAM concepts section.
